Located in Philadelphia and practicing both nationally and internationally, DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is a landscape architecture and urban design studio committed to creating socially-purposeful design strategies. It is an appreciation for empathy that drives the studio’s design process. Land Collective collaborates with cities, institutions, like-minded designers and engineers, and developers to create human-centered works which synthesize art, technology, and the social sciences. Using design as a tool, we problem solve on behalf of our clients and their constituents.
DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is seeking a landscape architect or like-minded building architect to join the studio. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, design-minded collaborator who represents the ethos and goals of the studio in both their temperament and their design skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture with 8-10 years’ experience. The successful candidate will be expected to perform a broad range of tasks within the studio, including but not limited to informing projects with design ideas that balance spatial and form-based matters, rendering, graphics for presentations, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration. But most importantly, the ideal candidate will have a proven capacity and desire to guide other less experienced studio participants as they mature into extraordinary designers themselves. Having a capacity to think beyond oneself is an important attribute at DAVID RUBIN Land Collective.
Candidates must have excellent design skills and aesthetic sensibilities, and the ability to render ideas digitally, by hand, or both. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Rhino. Knowledge of Revit is not required but preferred. Horticulture, site sustainability, and other technical knowledge is a plus.
