David Rubin @ Houston’s People + Nature Conference
On Thursday, October 22nd, LAND COLLECTIVE Principal, David Rubin, will be sharing thoughts at the People and Nature Conference in Houston, Texas. The conference runs from October 20th through the 22nd. David will be participating in a charrette focused on the potential for restorative landscapes at Houston’s renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center. The charrette will look at ways in which the institution’s campus landscape will better reflect the cutting edge innovation and research that happens inside its buildings. David will also be speaking at a conference session, entitled “Empathetic Design and Healing Spaces: Eskenazi Health Hospital,” sharing the aspirations and accomplishments of the recently-opened Indianapolis hospital and it’s public interface, The Commonground. David’s design integrates the Commonground into the City’s urban fabric and establishes a greater vision for the hospital campus, creating a destination for all of Indianapolis’ population, whether seeking Eskenazi’s services or not. Of 5,800 hospitals in America, Eskenazi Health Hospital and Campus will be one of ten newly built hospitals certified LEED® Silver or higher.
