Working in collaboration with Fluidity and the horticulture team at Newfields (formerly The Indianapolis Museum of Art), DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is assisting in the revitalization of the former Lilly Family’s Oldfields estate historic allée, perennial shade gardens, and fountain. In support of the museum’s master plan, Land Collective is revivifying the perennial borders that flank the historic allée and redefining the terminus fountain into a place of gathering to shift visitors’ perspective of the estate property and unify the productive landscape of the greenhouses with the Garden Terrace building to the south. The terminus fountain’s new display is conceptualized by Fluidity to become an expression of water that fits the grand gesture and vista from the historic house. A new plaza surrounding the fountain will support gathering and the display of art, creating an experience for the expanding membership of Newfields.
