Blue Skies: Vision Plan for the Bromo Arts & Entertainment District in Baltimore

LAND COLLECTIVE is bringing a vision to the Westside neighborhood of Baltimore – the burgeoning core of the downtown, and a center for arts and entertainment. A discussion which was sparked during David’s first Mayors’ Institute on City Design with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has led to a great collaboration with the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Economic & Neighborhood Development, Baltimore Development Corporation, and Ziger/Snead Architects. The visioning process brings multiple planning efforts completed over the past 10-15 years to life, and will offer the city a clear path to development of many vacant parcels at the downtown’s core. The flexible framework plan is a demonstration of good governance informing the public realm; it explores temporal programming that feeds into longer-term strategies, as well as enhancing and creating neighborhood identity.
