DAVID RUBIN Land Collective seeks Studio Coordinator

DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is currently seeking a Studio Coordinator to support the studio in day-to-day administrative operations. Land Collective is a landscape architecture an urban design studio based in Center City, Philadelphia. The studio is currently located in Rittenhouse Square, and will be relocating to Old City this spring. The coordinator position would address administrative support as well as help manage a small storefront rotating gallery focused on landscape-oriented art and social issues.

 

Land Collective has an immediate need for this position, in anticipation of an upcoming move from Rittenhouse Square to Old City. The Office Coordinator will have a role in the organization and logistics of moving into Land Collective’s new studio space, assisting the Project Manager.

 

Our new Office Coordinator should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be well organized and detail oriented. This team member must exhibit maturity, flexibility, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and grace under pressure. An appreciation for art and landscape is valued. This role reports directly to the Principal of Land Collective, David A. Rubin. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage communications internally and externally

  • Have a good understanding of all Land Collective deadlines and commitments
  • Answer main Land Collective phone line
  • Support all mailings and shipments
  • Support staff in the generation and mailing of newsletters and other social media efforts

 

Lead day-to-day administrative needs

  • Use organization’s database to maintain accurate client contact information.
  • Track and process incoming invoices, directing them to the Accounting studio
  • Support meeting and event planning, day-of coordination and set up
  • File, scan, and perform other administrative work
  • Run errands and travel, as needed
  • Support staff in the organization of image databases
  • Support Principal in making travel arrangements and associated expense/time reports

 

Gallery Responsibilities

  • Over time, develop a knowledge of gallery artists and their practices
  • Liaise with artists regarding display needs and schedules for rotating exhibits
  • Help organize First Friday events

 

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in similar settings or roles
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A joyful and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • An ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and be calm under pressure
  • A strong connection to the Land Collective mission
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, a must
  • Familiarity with Adobe programs is a plus

 

Compensation & Benefits

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm, with an occasional need for extended focus as appropriate for a professional position.
