LAND COLLECTIVE has been invited to create a vision for the landscape of theĀ Villa Ludovisi. Situated in the heart of Rome, the Villa dates back to 1622, and although a fraction of its former 90-acre size, it still holds significant treasures and opportunities within its walls, including the only Caravaggio oil on plaster. In collaboration with the Villa’s owners, HSH’s Boncompagni Ludovisi, and leading scholars, LAND COLLECTIVE will create a framework plan to bring the Villa landscape into the 21st century while respecting the significant history of the site.
Below are images from the archives of the Villa – images prior to the break-up of the estate when it comprised the largest private residence within the walls of Rome.
