Funding Secured for Kitselman Trailhead Project

Funding has been secured for the early phases of the Kitselman Trailhead Project in Muncie, Indiana, which will re-invigorate and help transform the character of the city from an industrial center to a hub of green industry. The project will support the unification of the Cardinal Greenway and the White River Trail system, and create a significant gathering space for citizens and visitors of this revivified metropolis.

The initial project phase will include the restoration and relocation of the historic Bridge #85, an iconic truss bridge initially constructed by the Indiana Bridge Company in Muncie. It will also involve preliminary work to support future trail connections to the White River Trail system and the Cardinal Greenway.

Future project phases will include significant Corten steel totem elements that will announce the transformation of Muncie and signify the presence of the post-industrial landscape in the city’s contemporary life.
