David Rubin, spoke at Cornell University and collaborated with students of the Landscape Architecture department on Wednesday, May 4th. Working with students of Professor Paula Horrigan’s seminar, “Placemaking by Design”, David met with students at their Collegetown project site for review of a mini-tactical urbanism event and a discussion on socially-purposeful design engagements. In addition, David conducted a professional development workshop with department students. The workshop focused on “How To Get A Job” and the solicitation of firms for employment, cover letter and resume development, as well as portfolio creation. The workshop was intended to give students an understanding of the transition from the academic environment into the professional world, starting with self-reflection and personal goals to achieve the right fit post-graduation.
