Public Beach is a new landscape park and trail system that runs parallel to Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach. LAND COLLECTIVE designed a new landform to define beach volleyball and soccer courts and provide seating nested into lush planting. Bold colors in the paving, custom seating, and planting celebrate and complement the ocean water and tropical sky. The beach trail will provide a public right-of-way for pedestrians and cyclists as it becomes an important part of the island’s connective tissue. Graphic chevrons along the pathway introduce bold patterning that define the park and complement playful forms in the park’s interior.
