POSITION SUMMARY: GRAPHIC DESIGNER
DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to support the studio in all aspects of visual communication, from project work to public engagement. DAVID RUBIN Land Collective is a landscape architecture, urban design, and planning studio entering its seventh year of practice with locations in Philadelphia and Indianapolis. This position is based in Philadelphia, PA, but the Philadelphia and Indianapolis studios work seamlessly together. The Graphic Designer position will collaborate with members of the studio and the Marketing Director, as well as the studio Principal, David Rubin.
In our ideal studio environment, the Graphic Designer would have excellent understanding of visual communication, and typography in various media and systems. Land Collective’s brand identity has been established and adherence to this vision is important, but we are interested in enhancing our branding system, as well as our efforts on behalf of clients. Design experience in data visualization and knowledge of exhibition design are desirable. Our new Graphic Designer would also have an interest in managing our in-house public exhibition space, GALLERY Land Collective.
Participation will include collaboration with Marketing in the development of compelling proposals and presentations; and with technical staff in the production of project deliverables, such as presentation boards, reports, and engagement graphics. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be well organized and detail oriented. Graphic design efforts will reflect the mission and visual language of the studio, but be tailored to every prospective client, so thoughtful invention is important. Clear, cohesive and compelling writing skills are required, along with consistent messaging. The position requires organization and management of multiple projects with differing timelines. This team member must exhibit maturity, flexibility, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude and grace under pressure. An appreciation for art and landscape is valued, as is an understanding of the design fields (landscape, architecture, planning). This role reports directly to the Marketing Director and the Principal of Land Collective, David Rubin.
