This comprehensive and coordinated regional vision for the enhancement of the White River spans 58-miles of the tributary’s banks through Hamilton and Marion Counties, inclusive of Indianapolis, Noblesville, Fishers, and other surrounding cities and communities. Working in collaboration with lead firm Agency Landscape & Planning, DAVID RUBIN Land Collective’s contribution is focused on defining destinations along the river for social gathering and strategic engagement along the river’s length. Amenities along this extraordinary natural feature will create key linkages between communities, and offer identity to cities and towns along the tributary banks. The plan identifies a spectrum of places for both human enjoyment and ecological restoration, balancing aspirations for gathering with the preservation and improvement of natural resources. The plan is informed by hydrologic investigations and an understanding of future water quality goals and needs as watershed development occurs, all in concert with regulatory requirements of relevant state and federal agencies. Engagement of key stakeholders, technical experts, and public constituents is facilitated throughout the planning process to both inform the plan recommendations and build allies for the plan as it moves into implementation. This extraordinary, legacy collaboration is undertaken with a large, multi-disciplinary team, including Applied Ecological Services, and supported by Hamilton County Tourism, Marion County Tourism, and the Indianapolis Department of Economic Development.
